At Karuna Montessori, we are a small team of dedicated and passionate staff sharing a wealth of knowledge between us about early years education. With each of us bringing our unique perspectives, we work together to foster an environment of inclusivity and respect.
Sabine is the Karuna Montessori Principal and Senior Classroom Directress. She joined the school at the beginning of 2023.
Sabine began her teaching career in 1987 and has worked in various educational settings across different countries and continents. Since arriving in Australia in 2011, she has worked in educational leadership in NSW and Victoria, focussing on Montessori excellence in schools and the expansion of Montessori pedagogy in the education sector. A highly dedicated and passionate Montessorian and educationalist, Sabine has worked with children in early childhood, primary and adolescence and strongly advocates for Montessori education for children and young people.
Sabine holds a Bachelor of Teaching from Austria, a Master of Art (Music Pedagogy) from the University of Vienna, Austria, and an AMI 3-6 Graduate Diploma in Montessori Education, obtained at the Maria Montessori Institute in London, U.K.
A Montessori mum herself, Sabine has two children who have attended Montessori schools during their schooling.

Roshelle Gabalfin
Classroom Assistant
Roshelle is a classroom assistant at Karuna Montessori Preschool who first joined the school during Term 1 of 2023.
Roshelle has been a classroom assistant since 2017. She provided support to children with additional needs in a special education centre in South Australia and in a public school in Canberra. Roshelle is very passionate about promoting each individual’s independence, development and learning and values their rights and strives to maintain their dignity and self-care.
Roshelle holds a Certificate IV in Education Support, Certificate III in Individual Support (Disability) and a Bachelor of Science in Physiotherapy from the Philippines.

Olivia Ossington
Office Administrator
Olivia joined Karuna in June 2022 as the Office Administrator. Olivia has strong organisational and administrative experience having worked previously as a Personal Assistant in a consulting firm. Olivia is the first point of contact for parents and new enquiries, and will support parents through the process of enrolment. Olivia holds a Certificate III in Early Education and Care, a Certificate IV in Leisure and Health and a Diploma of Nutrition.
Olivia lives locally and currently studies Design at UTS. She is passionate about creativity and children’s education and enjoys cooking and being outdoors.
